“No problem. I did my part to help with fundraising and publicity, so my job was done. Lyra is spending the weekend with her other mother, and I knew you needed the help. It is my honor to help you get organized in your new space. Anything I can do to support you, I’m here to help.”

A little over a year after Patricia put in a good word to get Leah hired, Patricia had decided to start her own business. Drawing on her newly-acquired MBA and an idea formed after volunteering with the county’s school system as a mentor, she had decided to open an educational consulting firm. The goal was to help immigrant parents become better advocates for their students.
