“You busy later?” Sheldon asked.
I gazed at him. “Not really. Why?”
“I was thinking about dinner. Tonight? I want to take you out.” He didn’t waste any time at all.
“This a part of going slow?”
“It’s a ‘get to know you’ meal.”
“That would be lovely.” I smiled. “What time?”
“I can pick you up around eight. It’s someone else’s turn to spend the night with the animals, so I’m free all evening.” I raised an eyebrow.
He amended, “Not that I expect anything to happen right away. I just meant, you know, we can take our time. But if you want to…well, shit.”
I cackled at his backpedalling. “Calm down. I’m just teasing you. You have my home address on file, right?”
“Yes. Are you allergic to anything?”
“Not that I know of.”
“Great. So, see you later? I gotta do some paperwork and schmooze some donations.” He appeared less than thrilled. I chuckled.
“Better you than me. You have fun with that.”
