Chapter 24

“Now, get some clothes on,” Griffin said with a grin. “I’ll meet you in the kitchen.”

“You’re a beast,” Daniel grouched.

Griffin laughed. “You have no idea. Right now however, we need food. We haven’t eaten in, damn, fifteen hours.”

“It’s…?” Daniel did a quick mental calculation, “eleven already?”

“Pretty close.” Griffin dropped a fast kiss on Daniel’s lips before taking off. “Venison or rabbit?” he asked when he got to the door.

“For breakfast? Ugh.”

“Oh, ye of little faith. It’ll be ready in a few minutes, so hustle.”

“Sausage?” Daniel asked a few minutes later as he walked into the kitchen. “I thought you were cooking venison or rabbit.”

“This is made with rabbit,” Griffin replied as he broke four eggs into a skillet to fry.

“If you tell me those are robin’s eggs I’ll puke,” Daniel muttered.

“Nope. Good old chicken eggs. Take a look out back.”

Daniel did, and saw a large garden with a chicken coop at the far end. “You really are self-sufficient.”
