Chapter 45

“Lily! Leave the boys alone!” Mum shouted from the kitchen.

“Tasha’s sitting on Jude! I wanna sit on Jude, too!”

“Oh my God, that sounds so wrong,” Jude cackled, and Anton groaned, covering his face in both hands.

“Tasha! Move over!”

“You suck, Lily!”

Jude just laughed harder, then plonked Lily unceremoniously on the floor and tugged on Anton’s shoulders. “C’mon, take up all the space and she’ll lose,” he advised, then—to Anton’s pleased surprise—kissed the top of his head. “We’ll work on it. After you stick ‘toons on or whatever, she nearly stood on my balls.”

“What’s balls?”

“Lily!”

Anton stuck the cartoons on, scowled at his cousin, and—actually, felt fine.

Because Jude’s arm was around him, and he was maybe bisexual and didn’t mind the maybe, and Anton wasn’t finished yet but it might not matter, and—

They were gonna work on it. 15

Jude stayed for dinner.
