Chapter 4

“How long have you been doing this?” Abel asked five minutes into our trip.

I waited for the traffic light to turn green at an intersection before I answered. “Ten years or so. I got my MBA and worked in the corporate world for a few years before deciding I needed more freedom. So I started up this business, and now I have twenty trucks. I might decide to expand into something else, but there’s lots of time. I enjoy it, when people aren’t being overly entitled dicks.”

“Huh” was all Abel muttered in response.

I left him to his thoughts as we checked on all the other vehicles, then finally, I had him watch the truck while I went into the bank. By the time it was all said and done, it was almost five o’clock.

“So are we still on for that drink? My treat,” I wheedled and he smiled.

“Sure. How about I meet you? Where is this place?”

“Archie’s. You know it?”

“Every man looking for ass in this town knows Archie’s.” Well, that answered one burning question.
