“Holy fuck. You are one sexy beast,” he whispered. “Did you know that, Eli?”

With my mind a whirlwind of giddy lust and deep-seated emotion, I pressed my lips to his. “Where the hell did you come from?”

He smirked. “You know where I lived and—”

“No, I mean, how the hell did you come into my life at the most perfect time?”

“I don’t understand.”

“Gray, Gray…just when I had given up hope…just when I had resigned myself to a life…without…without…”

I cut myself off. I had meant to say “a life without love.” But even though my heart suddenly burst with that sentiment, I certainly didn’t want to scare him away. Or, in my aroused state, persuade myself to its veracity. Plus, and of greater importance, I didn’t want to voice a word I might later regret.
