Chapter 28

“The Rock’s not as good as John Cena!” Jack broke in. He’d beat The Rock anytime.”

“No he wouldn’t,” Eddie said.

“Would, too.”

“Okay, okay,” Tyler admonished. “Can’t settle that here and now. We’ll wait until there’s a match with them in it.”

“Won’t happen. Right, Ward? They’re both good guys and they’ll never fight,” Eddie said.

Surprised that Eddie had directed his comment to him, Ward said, “You got something there, Ed.”

Ward looked at Tyler, who raised his eyebrows and shrugged. Ward felt good. Eddie seemed to have relaxed his stance against Ward for some reason, and Ward had a man in his life that put both Cena and The Rock to shame.

“All this talk and brunch is ready. Come on in,” Tyler’s mom insisted.

They went into the house.

Mr. Hughes greeted them. “Well, tell me, how was your boys’ night out?” He beamed at the two men. “You didn’t tell us much over the phone last night.”
