Chapter 6

“What’s got you grinning?” asked Jillian.

“Oh, Sean. He’s a hot mess.”

Sean stood up and straightened his rumpled shirt before he made eye contact with Marshall. His face split into his wide, bright smile and made his way over to their table. “Hey, buddy! Welcome back! Marshall, right?”

“Yep,” said Marshall with an equally broad smile. “This is my pal Jillian.”

“Cool, cool,” said Sean, fidgeting with his pen and ordering pad. “What can I get for you guys?”

“Yesterday’s food was pretty awesome. I think I’ll make it my new usual. Jill?”

Jillian was looking at Sean and not the menu. When she realized they were talking to her, she said, “Yeah.”

“Yeah what, dear?” asked Sean.

“Uh,” said Jillian. “Yeah. The usual.”

After Sean walked away, Jillian said, “Damn! He is hot!”

Marshall rolled his eyes. “Jill, you think every man is hot. You’re like a cat in heat.”
