Chapter 32

I said it.It’s out there. I can never take it back.

Emil stared at him for a moment, his eyes full of masculine emotion. “I love you.”

The evening wore on, but the men didn’t stir for some time. They finally got up and rinsed off the afternoon of rain and sweat and sex that covered their bodies. Emil made them some dinner. Bedtime came and so did another moment of awkwardness.

“Would you sleep in here with me tonight, Em?” he asked.

“I’d be glad to. Now what should I call you? You call me Em, but I don’t have a pet name for you.”

“Raphael used to call me Lee and that suited me well.”

“Will it remind you of him?”

Leander’s reply was confident. “He’s behind me; it’s you I love now.”

“Then Lee it is, Lee.”

“So what happens tomorrow?”

“We get up and get ourselves ready. One of us makes breakfast, and we complete our morning chores without Dawson having any idea where I slept tonight.”

After a moment, Emil added, “Where shall I sleep tomorrow?”
