Chapter 21

He waved at Jude as the car pulled away and then headed to the front door with his new key they’d had made earlier that day. Leo had told him he had to work until six and that Galaxy was hardly ever at the house anymore since starting his relationship with Adam, so Nolan knew he would be by himself.

He took a shower, dressed in a pair of sweatpants, and went to read a textbook while lying in bed.

He woke to lips brushing over his own. He blinked his eyes open to Leo leaning over him.

“Hi, sleeping beauty,” Leo said with a smile.

He rubbed his eyes and blinked again. “Hi. What time is it? I must have fallen asleep.”

“Six-thirty.”

“Shit, I did. Wow.” He leaned up a little on his elbows. “Guess I was more tired than I thought.”

Leo glanced at the history book lying on his stomach. “Or that’s more boring.”

“That, too.”

Leo sat on the edge of the bed and placed a hand on Nolan’s knee. “How’d it go today? Did you find a job?”

“Yeah, actually. I’m working at St. Jude’s.”
