Chapter 5

Too late, I noticed a vehicle pulling up behind mine in front of my house. When I got out of my ride, the driver of the other car did, too. Guess who?

I moved quickly to where he stood and shoved him against the car door. “This is stalking, Seb. I thought I told you to stay away from me.” The fact that his chest was firm and warm beneath his hoodie was best ignored, though my fingers wanted to linger.

“I just wanted to know where you lived now, since our apartment apparently wasn’t good enough for you,” he replied, a hint of disapproval in his tone. The way he looked at me right then, if I didn’t know any better, it was like he wanted to…

I could have cheerfully kneed him in the groin. “What part of ‘we are no longer a couple’ escaped you? What are you here for, sex? Not happening! And why would I torm…remain in a place where my love, all I thought was real and valid, was thrown back in my face?”
