“You’re not going to let it go, are you?” Luke replied. “Okay. I’ll go to a movie, if it’s not some chick flick.”
“Never. Those are not my thing. I’m more into action adventures and there’s one playing at the Royal that got good reviews.”
“Okay. What time? I can meet you there.”
Jourdain took out his phone. “It starts at seven-thirty.”
“Good. That will give me time to clean up.”
Jourdain looked at him in question. “Where do you do that?”
“Every fast-food place down here has restrooms.” Luke held up one hand. “And do not even think of suggesting I can come by your place to do it.”
Jourdain grinned. “Knowing how independent you are, I wasn’t planning on it.”
“I should get moving,” Luke said. “It’s late and—”
“You need your rest for work.”
“Got it in one.” Luke put his book in his backpack, stood, and said, “Thank you for dinner. I’ll see you tomorrow night.”
