“Yep.” Finn pulled the car to a stop in front of the warehouse, and Luke got out after saying, “Thanks a lot for the ride.”
“Any time. Well, maybe not anytime, but if I run into you by the river and you need a lift, just holler.”
“I might.” Luke smiled, thanked him again, then headed inside.

“Well, that was fortuitous,” Finn said to Tae after the dog scrambled into the front seat. “Didn’t plan on doing more than talking to him for a couple of minutes before he dashed off.”
Tae nodded as if he understood.
“So what’s my next step, dog? If I keep showing up, he’s going to wonder why.” He turned the car toward home, so he could drop Tae off before going in to work. “The question is, does Luke have the least clue what Jourdain is after? Or does he really believe the bastard’s some sort of Good Samaritan trying to help him get off the streets?”
Of course Tae didn’t answer the questions.
