Chapter 11

Indulgence.

They clambered into the car. Ian shoved the key in the ignition and listened as the engine purred to life. His gaze cut away to the front door. This was usually the part in the movie when it would fling open and Stephan’s dad would come racing out as he saw the errors of his ways and tried to stop their leaving. But real life wasn’t the movies and in the blink of an eye Ian backed free of the driveway. He switched the radio station to something playing upbeat country music. Not necessarily his type of music, but Stephan had a thing for cowboys and he hoped it might cheer up his lover a little bit.

Otherwise the drive home passed in relative silence.
