Chapter 12

I hope you didn’t make enough to share, Kiko texted back. Dom grinned. He was nearly finished eating when Travis wandered in holding his head.

“Up early today,” said Dom as Travis pulled out a coffee mug and poured. Dom probably shouldn’t have made enough for three people, but he wasn’t a monster. “It isn’t even noon yet.”

“Ugh, your voice,” said Travis, leaning heavily on the counter.

“Pour her a mug, too,” said Dom. Travis forced a laugh.

“What?” he said, pained grin on his face as he slid into the breakfast nook with his mug, the better to not have to stand.

“You left the bourbon out.”

Travis planted his face on the wood of the table and groaned loudly at the two glasses.

“Come on, Dom, you know I do stupid shit when I’m drinking.”

The toilet upstairs flushed. Dom went back to his eggs and toast.

“I’m just gonna drink this in bed,” said Travis, standing with effort and taking hold of his coffee mug.

“Just bring her down, Trav.”
