I smiled in the blue dim light cast by the dashboard. “Well, I hope to see you both soon.”
“Not if we see you first,” Colby chided a little, still being a kid. “Goodnight, Mr. Avery.”
I playfully rolled my eyes and waved at him. Then I added, “Goodnight, Mr. Colby Brae.”
“Enough with the sappy stuff,” Dugan said beside me. “I’ll call you, Paul. Promise.”
“I hope.”
In the backseat, Colby called out, “If he doesn’t call you, I will. We need to go to Mazeworld again.”
“Don’t worry about it, little friend. I’ll take you there again.”
