Vic glared at her, but Roxie was too drunk to notice or care. Still, Vic didn’t go in search of his lover—he trusted Matt completely, and a quick look into Roxie’s muddled thoughts showed Vic a scary looking Goth girl Vic knew would never be anything Matt would want. He reached out, touched over Matt’s own buzzing thoughts, and frowned to keep from laughing at the directness with which Char questioned him about gay sex. Vic had nothing to worry about.


It was only later, when Matty called out for him, that Vic heard the desperation and fear in his lover’s thoughts, and knew what had started out as innocent must have taken a turn for the worst. Excusing himself from Doug, he shook off Roxie and hurried to Matt’s rescue. Char looked more fearsome in person than she had in the glimpses Vic had caught of her in Matt’s thoughts, and he was surprised to find his lover could still manage to sport wood in her presence.
