The cars around them inched along, forcing Matt to do the same. Now he knew what Vic must have felt like, driving a bus in this weather. Thinking of his lover brought a smile to his face—he’d left Vic in bed, still asleep. He’d looked so peaceful cuddled beneath the sheets that Matt had had to resist the urge to join him and just call in sick and waste the day in bed. I should have. Would’ve gotten me out of this damn workshop at any rate.But no, he had settled for a kiss on Vic’s forehead, which made his lover moan in his sleep. Roxie should be nicer to him, Matt decided. Look what he gave up for this.“Why the hell are we going to this thing again?”

With a disgusted sigh, Roxie explained, “Look, it gets us out of the office, doesn’t it?”

“I have work to do,” Matt told her.

“Swimming doesn’t count.”
