When he recognized Bond in the news—knowing he’d worked to save a shooting victim just as he had on the Chinook—he couldn’t contain his excitement. He’d had other one-night stands snatched between missions in the years since their encounter, but none had been touched by compassion and softness as had those last hours with Bond Bergstrom.
Apparently, it hadn’t meant the same to Bond.
