Chapter 24

The ride up Roosevelt Boulevard wasn’t as bad as Doyle anticipated. It was a part of the city he hadn’t visited in a while and everything seemed new, if a bit run down in some parts. One after another, strip malls made life in Northeast Philly different than most of the rest of the city. Each strip held a different set of treats but the eateries were the best and most interesting. The ethnicity of the restaurants changed as neighborhoods whizzed by. Russian, Korean, Ukrainian, and others lined the way to their target’s home.

Kord, munching on more donuts was blissfully unaware of traffic, the city, or anything else. They reached Giorgio’s neighborhood well before Doyle expected.

“His house is a block away. I’ll find a spot as close as I can without sitting right on his front step.”
