“It’s never too late to have love in your life, and sometimes, you can have it twice.”
Tim’s face became serious. “What are you saying, love?”
“I’m saying, I, well, you probably know what I feel. I don’t hide it. But if I actually put it into words, it might scare you away, and that’s the last thing I want.”
“Try me.”
I hesitated. “I don’t know…the last time I blurted something…”
“Just send me flowers if it blows up, and I’ll come around,” he said, grinning.
“I’m serious, Tim.”
He sobered up. “I know you are. Forgive me.”
I took a breath and said, “I love…”
“I love you.”
We both stared at each other and cracked up. We’d declared ourselves at the same time.
“And here I was nervous,” I groused, pulling him on top of me and kissing the life out of him.
Seconds or hours later, we moved away from each other.
“I get that, and it’s mostly my fault from my reaction over a month ago. I regret what happened, but I’m happy for what transpired because of it.”
