“Exactly,” Gwen agreed. “The police are working on getting subpoenas to access the chat rooms’ files, but it takes time. Add to that, the fact there seems to be no one person all the victims chatted and went private with, the odds of finding the perps grows exponentially.”

Dylan frowned. “Are you saying they could, and probably are, using different screen names at each chat site, and maybe several different ones in any one room?”

Gwen nodded.

“It could take years to find them.”

“Maybe not years, but probably not any time soon unless we get very lucky,” Zavier said. “Meanwhile, the time span between the robberies is shortening.”

“I gather,” Mars said, “you want Dylan, or me, to join one or more of the various chat rooms involved and set ourselves up to be their next target.”
