Chapter 30

Neil cupped Austin face in his hand, holding him in place as he leaned in for the kiss. His palm was cool against Austin’s cheek. The kiss lasted longer than Austin expected, but shorter than he had imagined. He had been with Erika so long he had almost forgotten what a first kiss was like. Furthermore, he hadn’t felt stubble tickle his own beard in years. Perhaps it was the influx of new and old sensations that made it seem like Neil held the kiss so long. It scratched the itch; that was all Austin cared about.

Austin’s reflex after Neil pulled away was to hold him close and cuddle, the way he did with Erika after a tender kiss. He stopped himself before he could make things even more awkward.

“And?” Neil asked.
