Chapter 12

“Oh, fuck,” the caddie exclaimed.

“Stop saying fuck, Carl.”

“Why? I think this is bad, isn’t it?” Reggie chuckled and looked away.

“Well, don’t go telling Lee his partner is having an affair with another man,” Carlos suggested.

“Of course not. But just knowing it makes me feel nervous,” he murmured, putting the two halves of the napkin next to each other.

Carlos rubbed his head and shook it a couple times. “This won’t end well…”

“Yeah,” Reggie sighed, before standing up.

Reggie’s ball ended up in the water again at the seventeenth hole, and at the twelfth, he lost a stroke for hitting the ball into a sand bunker.

Despite this, he scored many birdies, which allowed him to end the round in sixty-five strokes, not only making the cut, but also ending in fourth place. Alone.

At the top of the leaderboard were Russell and a South African named Tovey.
