Chapter 25

Once he was a couple feet from room C101, he nervously bit the inside of his cheeks and creased his white cap.

Russell was there, behind that white-painted wood. In a few moments, Reggie would knock, trembling, on that door, before it opened to the man he loved. He had a hundred things to tell Russell, a thousand things to ask. And many of these were prohibited.

He shook his head, pushing those silly thoughts out of his mind. Then he headed to the door, hand raised, ready to knock, but it opened before his knuckles could touch the enamel wood.

It was Danielle.

Danielle, in all her statuesque beauty. Her long and shining blonde hair, her sparkling blue eyes, her tanned skin, her nails perfectly lacquered in red, her expensive perfume, her designer suit…

She was stunning. It wasn’t hard to see why Russell loved her.

Discomfort overwhelmed him. He bent his head and, in doing so, noticed something else. Danielle’s right hand was clutching a pink suitcase.

She was leaving.
