Chapter 72

Reynolds shoved Ron against the work bench, then sliced Ron across the chest before stabbing him in the thigh.

Chris leapt to his feet, charged at Reynolds, and knocked him back a few steps.

Reynolds grabbed Chris by the throat and pinned him against the vehicle. With his eyes full of rage, Reynolds tightened his grip on the knife and pulled back his arm.

Ron rushed up behind Reynolds and struck him in the head with a flower pot, then Reynolds fell to the floor, unconscious.

Chris slid down the side of the vehicle as the garage began to spin.

“Here,” Ron said, supporting him. “It’s okay.”

Chris struggled to get a decent breath as the pain throbbed through him.

Ron’s hands were warm against his face. “It’s over. You’re going to be okay.”

Chris nodded, but his agony was telling him a different story.

Ron went to the work bench and grabbed a black Exacto knife from the counter, and then knelt beside Chris and sliced through the tape.
