Chapter 3

He thought back to the time when he’d been recruited by Vigilant Warriors. He’d been approached by someone from the organization at the start of his senior year in high school. Apparently someone there had been keeping track of him because his archery skills had impressed them very much. He did not reveal to them that he imagined all the people who bullied him in school as his victims before he would shoot arrow after arrow toward the designated targets. His technique worked so well that he always hit bullseye.

Aside from attending his theoretical lessons during the initial four years at the university, he’d also been trained in hand-to-hand combat. His weapon of choice continued to be the bow and arrow, but he’d also learned how to shoot with guns and fight using all kinds of swords and knives even though he did not prefer those other weapons. The one surprising outcome of his high school curriculum was the skills learned during Home Economics.
