“Sit, Tim. I’ll answer it.”
“Let’s go together.”
He only agreed because he was overcome with a sudden exhaustion. Maybe the endless problems from all the assignments and the other agents had overwhelmed him. Terrence had been amazing by helping him with all the reports and administrative tasks, but all the decisions regarding the agents and their assignments in the SF branch was his responsibility. Tim hadn’t bothered him with anything else so far, and he was immensely grateful for those little blessings.
The two men opened the door together, and Ian was standing outside, looking like he hadn’t slept well for months instead of days. They stood aside to allow their guest, and potential boyfriend, into the house. When they were seated in the living room, they looked at one another, but no one spoke a word. After a few minutes of uncomfortable silence, Tim sighed audibly and grabbed his hand gently to stop the incessant tapping on his knee.
“So, Ian, what’s your decision?”
