Tristan tensed, surprised. He listened to Milo’s steps and then turned to see him leaving the room. He hadn’t expected that. Rain had been right—Milo’s behavior was erratic. What was this man’s problem?
“I’m not allowed to drink or eat anything,” Rain quickly said and grabbed Tristan’s hand. “I just knew his alpha male would kick in and he’d get me something from the machine.” He pulled on Tristan’s hands. “Come here and gimme a hug.”
Delighted to obey, Tristan pulled Rain into his arms and hugged him tight. He took a moment to be thankful for Rain’s health. “I didn’t know if I should come or not,” he said, leaning away
Rain sighed. “I’m glad you came, Tristan. I feel better just looking at you.” He eyed him. “That suit. Wow. You look stunning in black.”
