“I’ll do what you said. I’ll look that thing up.”

“Asperger’s.”

“Yeah. Asperger’s. Okay. Yeah. And I’ll call you Friday.” At last, Milo walked away from the bed.

When Rain was certain that he’d left the room, he opened his eyes. He’d won this round.

In Rain’s entrance, Tristan shut the door and leaned back on it, a little unsure of what he should do. This morning, he’d picked up Pip from Bernie’s and Rachel’s, and then together, they’d gone to the hospital to get Rain, who’d been cleared for check-out at eight A.M. Pip and Rain had been quiet during the ride back and now Tristan didn’t know if he should stay or leave.

“Whoa,” Rain said, leaning on the entrance wall for support. He was untying the laces on his red Doc Marten boots, but was obviously still too weak to be bending down.

“Let me help you with that,” Tristan said, crouching down.
