“If it was all an act, though,” Sage pointed out. “I feel sorry for him, for both of them, and a bit surprised, too. It’s the theater. Who the hell would care if they’re gay, and together?”

I thought about it, then said, “It’s possible neither of them was willing to accept they were, until they began to have feelings for each other. That could have happened fairly recently. Maybe at one of the opening night parties. A little too much to drink, one of them seeing the other as more than a man he worked with…” I shrugged.

Sage told Mike what I’d said. Mike nodded, replying, “It’s definitely possible. I think, at this point, we do know who the men in the dressing room were, although I’ll ask, next time I’m at the theater, to confirm it. This narrows things down to Carrie and Elaine, based on the reaction you saw from Carrie when she was with Elaine in the dressing room, Tonio.”
