Chapter 66

“Glad you’re not pissed,” said Dom.

“I was going to get another goose sometime. I hadn’t thought of two, though. You’re going to have to take care of your own,” said Kiko, teasing. “What will we name them?”

“I’m sure you’ll think of a clever pun.”

They sat staring at the eggs for another few minutes. Everything still seemed so awkward between them and Kiko didn’t want it to be. He leaned against Dom, pushing their bodies closer, feeling his warmth. He smiled.

“This is easily the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me. You know that, right?”

“I love you,” said Dom. “Just tell me it’s not too much.”

“It’s definitely not too much. You’re going to make a great goose dad with me.”

Dom laughed at that.

“Goose dad? Shit.”

“Too late,” said Kiko, standing and pulling Dom to his feet. “You should have thought about that before you adopted them for us. Help me move them upstairs; it’s colder down here than I like.”

“Right.”
