“Right, we are here, guys. Let’s go.”


Aurelius and he followed Moira’s lead and alighted from the car. It was a deserted neighborhood. The solitary house stood far apart from its neighbors, which were at least one mile away on either side. He noticed a couple of Aurelius’s subordinates interrogating an injured man, who was sitting on a chair outside the house. He took his time to study the victim while Moira and Aurelius were updated by their subordinates.


The man looked up at him fearfully. He could see that the victim was badly shaken from the near-death experience.


“My name is Dylan Johnson. I’m a special consultant with the Supernatural Crimes Division. My grandmother is Rose Thornton.”


He waited for a hint of recognition from the victim and was not disappointed.


“Thornton? That is the most powerful ancient lineage of witches.”


“That’s right. You’re a witch then?”
