“Hello, Liam,” said Ezra as he arrived at the rock.
“Hello.”
Ezra hugged him and kissed him hello. “Desrina didn’t want to intrude on our time together. Isn’t she beautiful?”
“I didn’t really get a good look at her. I imagine if she’s anything like her brother, she’s absolutely stunning.”
“I’m glad you came.”
Liam smiled.
“And now to business. To your many questions,” said Ezra. “If it will help us to become closer friends, I’ll do my best to answer them all. But before we start, may I suggest you perch yourself on the rock. You’ll stay warmer longer.”
“Good idea,” said Liam, and with a hand up from Ezra, he clambered onto the rock where, minutes earlier, Desrina had been. “Glad I put plenty of sun cream on.”
The time had arrived for answers, yet it was difficult for Liam to know which questions to ask first. “I have so many. Like, is Desrina your real sister?”
Ezra nodded. “Yes.”
“How is it she’s able to walk? On legs? What happened to her tail?”
