“Who’s worst off?” he asked the moment Akton led him into the forested dip in the land and helped him sit on a log. Talfryn took stock of what was left in his pack and then squinted around the area. It occurred to Akton that the intense light of the fires had possibly hurt his eyes, but Talfryn brushed him off.
“I think you should rest—”
“Not until people are seen to,” said Talfryn, then, to the others, “I’m an apothecary.”
