“Look him up some time,” Rae replied.
Matt nodded. “Maybe I will.”
Lou poured coffee for him and Wayne, then settled on the bed with his back against the headboard, looking at Rae. With a smile, he said, “Speak.”
“What if we make it look like Regotti put in with one the Mexican cartels while he was in Denver? Like that was his real reason for going out there, because he made some connections with cartel members while he was in prison, then followed up on it when he was released. That will put him on Grimaldi’s hit list.”
“Whew. When you dream, you dream big,” Matt said.
“She always has,” Wayne replied, smiling at his daughter.
“How the hell can we do that?” Lou asked. “I’m not rejecting the idea, Rae, but is it really possible?”
“That’s what we have to figure out. To start with, I need to know who he could have met while he was incarcerated.”
“Within the last two to three years,” Wayne said. “I presume you know where to look to find out.”
