“How do you know Mr. Anderson?” Ian asks, looking curious, probably because Richard Anderson is a well-known businessman in the were-world.
“I’m engaged to his daughter,” Ryan half lies. He was engaged to Katie before she got sick of hiding her true self for her father’s business. She’s now living in Paris with a beautiful Parisian woman, but if anyone asks her father, Richard says she’s just studying fashion abroad, and that Ryan’s such a good man to wait for her here in America. It would likely come as quite a shock to Mr. Anderson that his daughter and the young man he’d come to accept as a future son-in-law were both homosexuals and had simply been friends with an arrangement.
“Katherine Anderson is a beautiful woman. You’re a lucky man,” Ian says before taking a sip of whiskey, and Ryan forces himself not to look at Ian’s mouth.
