“Don’t laugh. It’s a more useful form than you’d think.”
Ryan’s sure Ian has a faint blush on his cheeks, but his heartbeat is still steady. “I won’t laugh,” Ryan promises, and he hopes he can keep his word and Ian isn’t something like a poodle or a skunk.
“I’m a ferret shifter.”
“That’s how you’ll get past the lasers, right?” Ryan asks, excited. “You can just dart through and turn off the lasers from the other side and let me in.”
“So you don’t think it’s a lame animal?”
“No. You can bite to the bone and fit in tiny spaces. I think ferrets are cool and kind of cute.”
“I won’t lie. I’m adorable.” Ian smirks.
“Yeah, you are.” Ryan grins and moves in closer to Ian, kissing his soft lips.
“Not what I meant, but I’ll take it.” Ian laughs, rolling onto his side to face Ryan and pulling him in for another kiss, but deeper this time.
