Dean Montgomery loves his ranch and his family, but something is missing. Rescued

“What did Uncle Colt say?” a drowsy Coop inquired.


“Just that he was searching for an old cabin. I guess it’s been out there and ready to collapse for many years. He thought maybe the kids were holed up there, and he would call in about two hours. I’m going to call the sheriff then take care of the bear. Oh, and your uncle said to tell you he loved you.”


Coop drifted off to sleep. Dean didn’t have the heart to move him right away. He spoke softly to the sheriff and let him know another update would be coming shortly. The sheriff thanked Dean, and he sounded as weary as the rest of them. Hank and Lenny hadn’t had any luck with starting their search closer to home. Dean was sure Colt was keeping in contact with the men, but would mention what the sheriff said anyway.
