Chapter 33

“Is it okay if I go to Mikey’s and see him tomorrow?” Coop inquired.

“And Amanda?” Colt elbowed Coop, and Coop turned red and elbowed his uncle back. “Of course, you can, if it’s okay with Mikey’s mom.”

Colt and Coop joked on the way home. Dean wanted to ask a million questions about what Colt went through, but he figured, if Colt wanted to talk about it, he would.

“Home sweet home.” Colt pumped his fist at Dog in the window. “You come up with a name yet, Coop?”

Coop looked at Dog and said, “Maybe…Buddy?”

Dean grinned. “I like that.”

Coop explained that Dean called him buddy while Colt had been away.

“Sounds good to me,” Colt said.

Once they got Colt inside and in bed, Dean could tell the man had enough activity for the day

“Let me make you some coffee. Anything special you want for dinner?”

“Any more of that beef stew in the pantry?” Colt yawned.
