“I could really use the help. You can carry the baby.”


Coop gently took the baby from Dean, adjusting the baby in his arms as he slowly walked, following Rebecca in the other room. He had such a look of love on his face that Dean hoped someday, if there was a someday for him and Colt, they could give a brother or sister to Coop.


Dean met Colt’s gaze, both knowing what the other was thinking. Colt smiled and spoke with Rusty about the ranch hands.


“Okay, let’s round everyone up. The sheriff is here.” Dean got up from his chair, grabbed some cake for Colt, and more coffee for them both. He told the guys as they walked in to grab it while it’s hot.


Colt looked at maps and spoke to each ranch hand about what happened leading up to, during, and after Randy went missing. He got a lot of information from Rusty on the weather, on who went out after, where they looked, where the horse was found, and any other information he could think to ask.
