“Coop, you have the most important job of them all. I need you to make sure Rebecca gets rest and stays safe, and that little Bradley Dean is cared for.” Dean hugged Coop tight with the baby in his arms. “Thank you for being here for my family.”


“Our family,” Coop replied, snuggling the baby without looking at Dean.


“Yes, our family.” Dean mussed Coop’s hair and winked at Colt.


Rusty got up from the chair and started grabbing supplies Rebecca laid out for them to take. “I got some extra gas on the sled I’ll be pulling in case we need it, and the hands are ready on standby with instructions if we need them to bring the horses. I have the maps and SAT phone already on your squad, Colt, when you’re ready.”


“Rebecca, remember to keep the SAT phone and cell close at all times. You will be our go-between. Coop, only call if it’s an emergency, okay? You know the drill.” Colt hugged Coop hard and went out the front door, following Rusty.
