Earthly Concerns

Once he was comfortable, I leaned down close to him and whispered, “Listen to my voice and no matter what you see or hear, remember that you are safe.” He started to open his mouth to speak but I pressed a finger to his lips.


“You’re safe as long as you listen to my voice, don’t listen to anything else that you may hear. Alright?” He nodded and I removed my finger. I let the crystal fall to his eye level and soon without having to move my hand it began to stir. “Stare at the crystal, watch it as it moves.” The crystal began to swing with a gentle force. Something was definitely here; I could feel the drag of its energy against the stone.


Barrett’s eyes widened as it swung out further and further with each pass over his face but I only shook my head slowly to indicate he wasn’t to move or speak.
