He blushed. “Um, yeah. Chris and me.”


He nodded. “He’s out in the hall.”


The door opened and in came Chris. Seth couldn’t tear his eyes away from him. He was having entirely too many inappropriate thoughts in an inappropriate place. But damn, he was just too sexy. His body couldn’t help but react.


Catching his stare, Chris shot him a smirk, and Seth’s cheeks heated. He stood as Chris rounded the bed and took his hand, placing a chaste kiss on his cheek.


“Hi, Karlee,” he said. “How are you doing?”


“I’m okay. Sore. But I have to get up and walk around some later. And they’re going to wheel me in to see Axel soon.”


“Axel. I love that!” Chris exclaimed.


She beamed and brought up her phone to show him Axel’s picture.


“He really is, isn’t he?” she asked, sniffling again. Seth gave her another tissue.
