Chapter 82

Tony took off his glasses, rubbing his eyes with the palms of his hands.

“You okay?” Dan asked.

“Yeah. Just tired, especially my eyes. I spent most of the day staring at the computer screen. I think I’ll call it a night.”

“Okay. See you tomorrow?” Greg asked.

Tony nodded. “Probably. This is my go-to place when I need to get out of the house.”

“Isn’t it all of ours?” Pat said with a laugh. “We lead pretty dull lives, I think.”

“Speak for yourself,” Greg told him. “Me? I’m going to find a sexy man and dance until midnight.”

“At which point, you dash off, dropping your glass slipper, before you turn into a frog?” Dan asked, straight-faced.

Greg rolled his eyes. “I think you’re mixing up your fairytales.”

“Whatever.”

Tony laughed, said, “See you all next time,” and headed to the door. When he glanced back, Greg was already on his way to the dance floor and Dan and Pat were sitting, arms around each other, watching him with amusement.
