Chapter 9

Since it was cool in the evenings now, the guys and I took out the blankets and pillows we always reserved for this time of year and snuggled in front of the fireplace in the living room after our meals. Ret, Roscoe and I would fall asleep entwined together after wearing ourselves out making love.

Danny still hadn’t been intimate with us, physically. However, starting this past week, I had awakened early each morning in front of the dying embers of the fireplace to find him lying next to me—naked, praise be—under the covers. Ret and Roscoe were behind me, as usual, our legs wonderfully entangled. I would snuggle close to him, wrapping my arms around his firm chest before dozing off again.

Finally, it seemed we were making progress, and I found it heartening that he’d chosen to start with me. I didn’t think it was a coincidence, as I felt we’d had a connection of sorts from the beginning.
