Chapter 26

In this new pocket dimension, which Ken had momentarily breached, their kiss lasted all day. It started with them simply pressing their lips together, but then Jae tilted his head more to one side and came back with more fervor. Soon they were both moving their heads slowly as they kissed, finding the angles they liked best and coming back to them between their other explored positions. There was no exchange of tongue. Instead Jae tightened his hold on Amir’s shoulders and in response Amir slid his grip further up Jae’s arms to pull himself closer. The hollowness of Amir’s chest filled with stars until he was sure Jae could feel the light of it pouring from his mouth.

It ended when it needed to. Amir didn’t know which of them pulled away first or if they had backed off at the same time on some unspoken cue. Jae’s eyes were withdrawn again.

“Was that okay?” Amir asked.
