“Are you making fun of me?”
“Hell no. You wanted something different…well, this is different. There’s not a restaurant, a bar, or even a hangout in all of New York with this kind of theme. You’d be the first. I think it would catch on. What do you think?”
“I don’t know,” Ric said thoughtfully. “What about you? The chef? Would you dress up like a gang member?”
“You know the answer to that. The Health Department won’t allow it. It’s a white apron, and floppy hat in the kitchen, otherwise we’ll be slapped with a health violation. Besides, I’ll be in the kitchen all night. My job is getting the food prepared and out to the customers. You’re the floorshow. I’m out of the game, you might say. Just pretend I’m not even there.”
“Yeah,” Ric said, thinking. “But what if someone came in that looked like a gang member?” He looked at Reny. “What would we do if that happened?”
