Chapter 18

“Grab the biggest thing first?” Major asked.

“That’s what she said.”

Abby groaned.

Since she went for the headboard, Major and I took his mattress.

“So this new guy of yours, Mick…” Abby walked behind us. “Beyond looks, green eyes, and armpit hair—”

“I told her about the armpit hair on the way over…Bluetooth,” Major said.

“What other qualities would he need to have to be your idea of perfect?”

“Hmm.” I wiped my forehead on my shoulder. It was a little after nine in the morning, and already I was sweating. “Well, he has to love animals, which I think he probably does, considering how he rescued Columbus from the street and has some of his own.”

“Seems like,” Abby said.

“He’d have to get along with you two, for sure. And if one of you didn’t like him…well, I’d drop him like I’ll likely drop at least one of Major’s most prized possessions today.”

“Really?” he asked.

“I’ll try not to, but I can be a little clumsy, especially if I think something’s ugly.”
