“You never finished your list.”

“What list is that?” I asked, figuring she was still after a running tally of all my sex partners.

“The one comprised of the qualities that make up the perfect man.”

“Ah. That.”

“All we have so far is armpit hair, good with dogs, and has to like Maj and me.”

“Well, I’d love to be with a guy who can fix things around the house,” I said.

“Good idea. How many Micks does it take to screw in a lightbulb?”

Major’s laughter boomed like thunder after a nearby lightning strike. Ginger spun around to look at him.

“We still don’t have a light in there. It’s going to be dark soon,” Abby reminded us.

“Eh. My phone has a flashlight. Keep going, Sally. What else you looking for?”

“Hmm.” I tied a long blade of grass into a bow and was once again reminded of those beautiful eyes I’d seen that day. “I guess he just has to think I’m worth it.”

“Worth what?” Abby asked. “Ten minutes of sweaty sex?”
